New transformer for better energy supply in the West region

In a bid to improve energy supply to its customers in the West region, Eneo Cameroon S.A announces that it will carry out some major work at the Bafoussam transformer substation on Sunday, 14 May 2017, from 12 midnight to 6 p.m.

The work mainly involves replacing a 36 MVA transformer with another of capacity 50 MVA. This means a 28% increase in the possibilities of energy supply to customers in Bafoussam and its environs.

The commissioning of the new facility, alongside the rehabilitation of the Bafoussam thermal plant, will help to :
- Mitigate the risks of power cuts caused by incidents at this substation
- Connect new households and companies to the network
- Reduce voltage drops especially in the localities of Bandjoun, Bangangté, Ndikimeniki, Mbouda, Dschang, Santa, Foumbot and Foumban.

The investment package stands at CFAF 600,000,000 (Six hundred million).

During the 14 May 2017 operations, power supply will be disrupted or interrupted in several localities of the West region.

Eneo advises all customers affected to use alternative sources of energy if need be, and to unplug all delicate appliances and to reconnect them at least 15 minutes after the effective restoration of power.
