Prepayment billing explained
In order to understand your prepaid billing, you first need to know your customer category. The rate applied to you in prepaid metering depends on the category to which you belong; this rate will change depending on your consumption from the first day to the last day of the same month. This is known as the tariff cycle.
Your customer category is determined by three indicators:
- The type of meter installed in your house;
- The amperage or the power you have subscribed to;
- Your activity.
Here are the 5 customer categories with their respective characteristics:
The tariff cycle is as follows:
This cycle applies to each customer category and runs from the 1st to the last day of each month. The following month, the cycle starts again from tariff 1.
Example:
You have a single-phase meter installed in your house with a subscribed amperage of 15A => you are a customer in the Family category! In Family, up to 150 KWh, 1 KWh is billed at 50 FCFA, excluding VAT!

NB: At the time of your installation, if you have unpaid consumption bills, this debt will be migrated to your prepayment meter and 20% will be deducted from all your recharge payments until your debt is cleared.
