Power outage in part of Douala since December 23rd, 2018 due to damaged underground cables in the “Kilomètres 5” area.

Eneo Cameroon announces to its customers of BONANJO, BONABRISO, BALI, KOUMASSI, BRASSERIES, CENTRAL MARKET, MIRA, AVAL PORT AREA, NKOMONDO, BOIS DES SINGES, AKWA, NEW BELL, NKOULOULOUN, BONAPRISO... that the power cut they are experiencing since Sunday, December 23, 2018 around 06:55 am is due to damaged cables.

The fault was located on a segment of underground cables, in the “Kilomètres 5”area, on the Logbaba-Koumassi transmission line. A teenager damaged the cables while digging holes to plant goals for a football match at the playground opposite TRACTAFRIC.

In the neighbourhood, several residences and businesses are built along the corridor of the underground and aerial networks, making repairs difficult. The reconstruction of the damaged cables will last several days. In the meantime, Eneo is putting in place interim network redesign solutions to lessen the impact of the outage.

Our technical teams, backed by ten partner companies, are ceaselessly working to restore power before December 31st 2018.

Eneo apologizes to its affected customers for the many inconveniences suffered.
